Hello all,
I have a recent install of Windows 7 Ultimate 64 and it quickly degraded. I am very tech savvy, so it must be something easy. I was doing Windows updates when it failed with error code 0X00…50.
I rebooted and went into error code 0X00…109 (I think).
Another reboot put me in repair mode, where the end solution was restoring a restore point.
It was apparent the failure was obscure, so I attempted to view my event viewer for details. I was greeted with this message: MMC could not create snap-in clsid: FX:{b05566ad-fe9c-4363-be05-7a4cbb7cb510} I pursued this failure but wasn’t able to find a solution to my failure that worked. (This includes going in the registry to remove the reference to FX:{b05566ad-fe9c-4363-be05-7a4cbb7cb510}
Then I tried starting my Stamps.com application, which failed without a code. I ran: sfc /scannow with no errors detected.
I went into MMC control panel and was not able to get the event viewer to work there, either.
I continued to install Windows updates individually. Every time it had me reboot, it went into the fail loop described above.
I went through my services and enabled any service remotely related – again without a solution.
I have been looking and searching for any suggestions on how to resolve this without any luck.
Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated!
