ERR EMPTY RESPONSE – Chrome

Sometimes when you are trying to connect to websites or services in Google Chrome, you may receive the error message “No Data Received – ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE” instead of the website you wanted to load. Although this error can affect all web browsers, for some reason it strikes Google Chrome users most frequently in any Platform, even in Windows or Mac.

The error (error 324) reads:

No data received
ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE
Unable to load the webpage because the sever sent no data.

The message indicates a data transfer issue that is sometimes difficult to correct as it may not always be caused on your end. For some users of the browser, no data received may appear completely random as they may be able to load sites right after the error, or may not experience it at all for a prolonged period of time.

These type of errors may also occurs due to system registry, and due to other malicious programs and not only the browser is responsible. The Below are the actual reasons due to which you may face the error err_empty_response.

  • Should have a working and active internet connection.
  • Browser Caches (Clear Caches to solve the error)
  • Network Connection issue (Reset or Re-configure)
  • Bulk Temporary Files (Clean Temp Files)
  • Background running processes in browser such as Extensions or Plugins (debug one by one)

How to fix No data received. Error code:ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE

Fix Error #1: Clear the Internet Browsing Cookies and Cache

By clearing the browsing data of your browser can get rid out of this error how to fix no data received ERR EMPTY RESPONSE Chrome code problem from you.

NOTE: This method will clear your saved data in Google Chrome i.e., Autofill forms, Saved Password, History, etc. So proceed ahead with caution.

  1. Open Google Chrome & Copy this link: chrome://settings/clearBrowserData
  2. Paste the Link in New tab and click Enter. A pop-up will appear asking which things to clear.
  3. Select all the options and tap on Clear browsing data option.

That’s it. Check now, No data received – ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE Error is most probably fixed.

Fix Error #2: Reset network settings and Flush DNS.

Due to misconfiguration of DNS or Network Settings, this error is caused. Flushing DNS and Resetting Network Settings may resolve this error. There are different Command available to Flush DNS, renew, release, etc. using which ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE Error can be fixed in many cases. You need to open Command Prompt to perform these actions.

  1. Click on Windows button and Search for cmd and you will get Command Prompt as a search result. (Right click on it & select Run as administrator option)
  2. A Command Prompt window will popup. In Command Prompt, enter the following lines. You can Copy the Command given below & paste it in Command Prompt & Press Enter to run them. (You need to press Enter after each line of command and wait for the process to complete before you go to the next line.) Note: Run all the Commands One by One.
  3. ipconfig /release
    ipconfig /all
    ipconfig /flushdns
    ipconfig /renew
    netsh int ip set dns
    netsh winsock reset
  4. Once you successfully run all these listed commands, just restart your system or computer or windows and that’s it.

Fix Error #3: Power Cycle Your Computer and Router

Simply just unplug the router from the power source and leave it that way for at least 5 minutes before plugging it back in again. We will power cycle the router and computer that you are using to clear the memory of the router, modem and network card.

Then shut down your computer and unplug it from the power source (remove the battery if you are using a laptop) and leave it off for 5 minutes and then turn it back on again. Now check if the error still exist or not.

Fix Error #4: Clean the system Junk files

In this method, We are going to clean the junk files and unnecessary files that are stored in our PC. Kindly follow the below steps.
We need to to disk cleanup process in our PC to clear all the Junk files.

NOTE: You my lose some data in this process. Hence the process should be carried down at your risk friends.

  1. Click on Windows button and Search for cmd and you will get Command Prompt as a search result. (Right click on it & select Run as administrator option)
  2. A Command Prompt window will popup. In Command Prompt, type the command cleanmgr and press Enter.
  3. The Disk cleanup process will begin and you will be intimated about the running time of the process.
  4. Once the process is done then Restart the system and check the browser.

Fix Error #5: Deleting Temporary Files

  1. Press Windows + R keys to open the Run prompt. Type Temp in the Run window and Press Enter.
  2. A new window (Explorer) containing different files and folders will appear. The files in the Explorer are Temporary Files which we have to clean. So Press Ctrl + A keys to select all the files of that window.
  3. Press Shift + Delete to Permanently Delete all temporary Files. Or else right click and select Delete to delete all the Temp files.
  4. Just restart your computer so that the changes are effective.
