10. Hold down the Windows and R keys   to open the Run dialog   for the last time.

11. Here, type  regedit  and  hit Enter  .

12. Navigate to the following location in the registry editor:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Policies \ Microsoft \ Windows \ WindowsUpdate

13. Find the keys  WUServer  and  WUStatusServer  in the right pane.

14. Right-click on each of them, and then select  Delete.

15. Select  Yes to continue  with your actions.

16. Go back to the service window, right-click  Windows Update  and select  Start.

Now try updating again to see if you still get the same problem.

# 6: Turn off or disable Windows firewall settings on your PC

  1. Go to  start menu
  2. Go to  the control panel
  3. Click on  Windows Firewall  there
  4. Click on the ‘  Turn Windows Firewall on or off  ‘ function
  5. Check »  Disable Windows Firewall (  not recommended  )  «
  6. Now, click on the ‘ OK  ‘ button
